Can't sleep!

Well, I've been having a good time in California. The 4th was great, we went to Disneyland for the 4th, man I haven't seen anything like that before, it was the best fireworks show I have ever seen, I loved every minute of it. Today we went out to lunch with his family that was really nice, and we had a good time. We went to the Olive Garden, I do love their food.

Then later we went out just bumming around, we ran into one of Doug's old girlfriends, she kept hanging all over him, he kept asking her not to do that. I think she was just doing that to get to me, but I just ignored her, I figured she was just trying to mess with me. I didn't think I was the jealous type until she started doing that, but I held it together really good, but I have to admit, I didn't like it. Finally Doug had enough and said, lets just go and get out of here.

Then later tonight we went to a bone fire thing down at the beach, that was a lot of fun, I was having a blast with all of his friends, until the ex showed up there, but I told Doug we don't have to leave, let it be her problem. She came and sat down next to him, and he said, let's move, so we moved quite aways from her. I don't think she liked that at all. Finally one of Doug's friends asked her to leave when she started to get loud and make rude comments. But, for the most part it was a wonderful night, just wish I hadn't meet any of his ex's. But, I think we handled it really good. Considering Doug wanted to tell her off, I said, no then it just makes you look bad, and he agreed with me on that.

We got home and his Mom was still up I told her about the old girlfriend, and she said, don't let it worry you, Doug wasn't all that serious with her, and that was almost 2 year ago that he went with her. She said, it sounded like to her that she was the one that was jealous because Doug had a nice girlfriend now, and she said, to look at Doug you can see that he loves you very much, so that made my night. Then she said, and of course you know that we all love you, too.

I do feel like part of his family, they are the most wonderful people around, they have not only opened their house to me, but their arms and most of all their hearts to me. His sister and I get along really good, she is like the sister I never had, we have so much fun at night in her room talking and laughing. It reminds me of sleep overs when I was in Middle School and High School, all the fun we had.

My Mom and step dad will be here on the 19th, it is coming so fast, it seems like the summer is just flying by and I wanted it to go by so slow. I'm already getting so sad to see it end, and I will be so far away from Doug. I will be on one end of the coast and him on the other end. As I'm sitting here writing about it, my eyes are already tearing up at the thought of not being with him. It is going to break my heart to have to leave him. He is coming back on the 23rd with us and staying for a week, then I have to get ready and packed for Boston.

I talked to my Mom today, she was telling me how much fun they had at the Three Rivers Festival, I sure miss that I missed it, it is one of the times that it can be fun at the Fort. Usually there isn't anything to do around the Fort and man do I realize that now. Being in California there is so much more to do here then at the Fort. But, to the Fort is nice and quiet compared to here, so there is good and bad in both.

Well, I'm turning this into a book, I had better head to bed.
